Brutus Dus Attianus was born to a set of higher standing Garlean parents during the rise of the empire in Ilsabard and the tail end of Solus zos Galvus’s reign, deep in the heart of Regio Urbanissima. Martina eir Gavia, Brutus’s mother, having the chance to work along lawmakers and land owners and her father Augustine goe Attianus higher in the chain as in the head of public morality. Learning about the inner workings of the Garlean government at a young age, Brutus quickly saw herself rise in the ranks as a marksman and the start of her dabbling in pistol repair. On the eve of Brutus’s fifth nameday she saw herself become an older sister to her sister Aurelia, and once more 13 years later to her brother Clement.Outside of her small family, Brutus never had many notable long-term friendships with the others around her, aiding a semi-isolated childhood. Regardless, she made note to always strike up a conversation whenever the three visited Forum Solius for this to lead to an eventual friendship with Jullus Norbanus and his siblings. The two grew close over the years and eventually had a one off sexual fling as older teens before swearing to never do it again out of complete discomfort from the both of them. During the reign of Varis Zos Galvus Brutus saw herself knee deep in the civil servants section of the empire, taking on the aid of a Lictor specifically in order to make her own keep. Helping out not only her aging parents, but Aurelia and Clement in their own endeavors despite being on different ends of the hierarchy. Most days she spent with Aurelia in the repair industry, lending a mentor eye on her sisters budding marksmanship of revolvers and the newcoming gunblades, then giving the scraps to Clement for his merchanthood. An act she kept under wraps from her own positions for years to come, marking her 32 nameday.Losing both of her parents due to old age and her siblings starting to get their own footing in their paths, Brutus began the slow descent out of the empire by taking further lucrative jobs out towards Gyr Abania under the heavy gaze of the XIIth Legion and in turn Varis’s own son, Zenos. Becoming deeper into her officer ranks, now almost seeing eye to eye with the Palatinus. Splitting hairs with the Prince himself, Brutus talked herself out of the Palatinus position and took her original side of just a Lictor and began a small journey to see the rest of the realm as a quiet, hidden Garlean woman in hopes to eventually distance herself fully from the gaze of the Empire.

Watching the fall of the Doman Garlean Empire, Brutus made her way back towards Gyr Albania to meet up with Gaius Baelsar in hopes of a lead out of the full grasps of the militia. Once rendezvous, she was initially met with Maxima Priscus who she’d only seen in passing as a child and once within her travels into the Doman side of the Empire. He proposed for her to join the Popularis as she expressed her discomfort with working for an Empire so hellbent on making the lives of their own kind worse. Accepting the offer, Brutus began going under the alias Rex for the time being in hopes to keep herself as low as she could, fashioning her hair in order to keep the third eye hidden from the public viewing. Of course, she couldn’t keep herself low for long as she had her nose in everything prior to the AWOL behavior, causing a rouge member of the XIIth Legion to ambush her in combat, making a potentially fatal blow to the left side of her chest, the impact causing a vertical lateral slice on her left breast, causing severe damage to the tissue yet Brutus fought on before Maxima and in turn Gaius to have to interfere. When she came to days later, it had made apparent that that breast was taken off due to infection, leaving her with only her right intact. Not wanting such an injury to hold her back, Brutus began to spend most of her time with Maxima and his group in rehabilitation and in turn budding a romantic bond with him.Going into Endwalker with the two of them being romantically steady, she came back to Ilsabard in aid regarding the Telophoroi unexpecting what was personally waiting for her in those borders. On arrival she was stationed up in Victors’ Spoils as additional watch due to her experience with the land. When staying within the camp after it was hurriedly evacuated from the Warrior of Light’s aid, a glimpse of an old colleague poked out from the barren wasteland of snow and ice. Approaching with her revolver in her hand, it was revealed to be Jullus, grief stricken and unsettled by her return to Victors’ Spoils nearly a decade and a half later. Knowing Brutus had left the Empire, he lashed out on her in both verbal and physical altercation similar to the one regarding the XIIth Legion months prior. Without notice, she fired two warning blanks into the air to Lucia and the others at Camp Broken Glass for backup due to the combative and unsure nature of Jullus at hand as he raised his own arms towards her. Backed into the railing overseeing the Eblan Rime from the harassment and now physical threats from a once beloved friend, Brutus shot Jullus square in the right side of the chest as less of a fatal injury but enough to have him subdued by Lucia and the Warrior of Light.Evenings passed as she was forced to retire in Camp Broken Glass from the altercation, she soon learned of Aurelia’s eventual full fledged escape but completely awol from passing conversations with members of the Eorzean Alliance with utmost certainty. Not choosing to take it for certain due to the presence of various refugees in the Tertium, she did quietly hold onto help that she was still out there. While traveling to Tertium with Alphinaud and Alisaie, she came to learn of Clement’s death, just barely turning 14 years old, in the hands of the conflict at the Garlemald capital as his shop was caught in the crossfire. The weight of the situation at hand crowed at Brutus once more as she aided in the liberation of Tertium and personally dragging Jullus to stare at the late Quintus's still raw and warm corpse, directly blaming him for not only Quintus's suicide but her brother’s death as well as she had an inkling Jullus had his hands in both. Now swearing off Jullus’s please for reconcile and forgiveness from his only friend remaining, despite starting the tussle once more, she gave her goodbyes to those in Ilsabard and permanently taking up residence in Porta Praetoria and giving her time aiding Gaius and his adopted children.
